Waiting on Wednesday #7

Hello everyone!

I’m sharing another Waiting on Wednesday post today. The topic for Top 5 Wednesday is Favorite First Sentences and I don’t tend to remember first sentences very well. I have a hard time recalling specifics like that when it comes to books unless I have them in physical and since the majority of my books are not, I decided to share another of my most anticipated reads.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine spotlighting upcoming releases.

SO let’s get started!

Today I want to spotlight Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. There’s probably no way if you’re reading this that you don’t know about this book, but for the sake of being a good book blogger, I’ll tell you what it’s about. This is the 5th book in her Throne of Glass series, which is incredibly hyped and incredibly popular. I started reading this series last year where I binge read the first three books and the novella collection and I loved them. There’s a lot of criticism that I can give and do give concerning this series but to be honest, I always enjoy it so much because of how fast paced the plot is and how much the characters grow and develop with each book. I’m a fan.

Empire of Storms Cover

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don’t.

As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

Aelin’s journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?

I’m really excited for this book! However, I think that I’ll be reading it next year. Every time a book in this series comes out, everyone reads it and opinions fly around and I just like to wait until the hype dies down a little bit before I read it myself. I did that with Queen of Shadows and I feel like I enjoyed it a lot more because of that.

So that’s it for this post. Let me know if you’re anticipating the release of this book. What book would you share for a Waiting on Wednesday post? Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you on my next post!
