LOB #8

Hello everyone!

I am back with one of my original features inspired by Lila @ The Bookkeeper’s Secret and Reg @ She Latitude to put together outfits inspired by book covers.Usually I pick the cover based on my favorite books (old and new), under-hyped books that I want to feature a bit more on my blog or just regular beautiful covers.

SO let’s get started!

I don’t think I’ve talked about my enjoyment of this series a lot of my blog. I read this book with Abby and Gervan for the Mom Book Club a few months back and we all pretty much agreed on it’s awesomeness. I didn’t really know how I would feel about the book considering I’m not the biggest fan of Claudia Gray’s first published series but I ended up really enjoying it. It’s action packed and imaginative. The concept of traveling in different dimensions is really well thought out and explained. The story itself isn’t predictable and always manages to keep me on my toes.

Fun fact: The only reason I added this book to my TBR was because of the cover. Didn’t even read the synopsis the first time. But can you blame me?

Cloud Atlas meets Orphan Black in this epic dimension-bending trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray about a girl who must chase her father’s killer through multiple dimensions.

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes—and promises to revolutionize science forever. But then Marguerite’s father is murdered, and the killer—her parent’s handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul— escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows—including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. Before long she begins to question Paul’s guilt—as well as her own heart. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is far more sinister than she expected.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores an amazingly intricate multi-universe where fate is unavoidable, the truth elusive, and love the greatest mystery of all.

So that’s it for this post! Let me know what you think of the look and if you’ve read this book. If you haven’t, I hope you’ll give it a chance and when you do, make sure to let me know all your thoughts on it! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you on my next post!

  1. What a creative feature! I adore that look, though I know I could never pull it off. That backpack, however…

I haven’t read this book yet, but the premise sounds fascinating. I hope that I can get it somewhere up on my TBR soon. Is it near the top of yours?
