Because I read pretty much nothing of my TBR for June, I decided to just use the same list for July and hopefully bring the number of physical TBR books down. And then it took me half a month to get this post up so now it’s a TBR for two months! So if you read that post, you will see that this one is 98% the same so feel free to ignore it or not haha.
SO let’s get started!
First Order of Business:
The Spy with the Red Balloon (The Balloonmakers #2)
by Katherine Locke
The end of the first book was insane and I was so excited to continue and then I figured out that it was a companion book, I wanted to cry! Not because I am not looking forward to more of the story but because I wanted to know more about the first group of characters. We’ll see what this installment has in store.
The Mom Book Club:
Not much decided as of yet haha
Read It While It’s Hot Challenge:
Competence and Stripped
by Gail Carriger and Zoey Castille
Two of my most anticipated reads coming out in back to back months. I really want to get to them but I’ve been in such a slump for the last few weeks that I haven’t read anything at all. I hope I can get over that soon while I still have free time in the summer.
Read Like a Grown Up Challenge:
by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
I got this book as a Christmas gift from my brother. I don’t really know a lot about it but I want to give it a chance. My mom read it and she didn’t hate it so we’ll see what happens haha. Let me know if you’ve read it before and what you thought!
Stand with the Loners Challenge:
Love & Gelato
by Jenna Evans Welch
My mom got this book for us to read together and I still haven’t read it yet. I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile now and I hope I can get to it soon because I could really use something light and fluffy right now.
Children of Blood and Bone (Legacy of Orisha #1)
by Tomi Adeyemi
Fadwa @ Word Wonders set me up with the task of reading this book last month and I didn’t manage to get to it. But, I hope this month I will find the time so she can keep recommending more great books for me to read on a monthly basis.
Catch Up with the Release Challenge:
Zodiac, Wandering Star, Black Moon and Thirteen Rising
by Romina Russell
I own this entire series in hardback and have yet to read any of them haha. One of my close friends has read this series though and she’s been waiting for me to read it so I have to at least start it this month. That is one of my main goals in June.
The Case for Jamie
by Brittany Cavallaro
Only library book that I managed to keep in June so my actual first order of business is starting and finishing this book so I can finally give it back to the library after renewing it 4 times haha.
Second Position and Bruja Born (Brooklyn Brujas #2)
by Katherine Locke and Zoraida Cordova
I am halfway through Second Position and I am really enjoying it though its a super angsty read. I hope to finish this book by the end of the week. I still haven’t read any more of Bruja Born which tears my heart to pieces but I finally have time to just lay and read so these two are my second orders of business!
The Burning Maze (The Trials of Apollo #3)
by Rick Riordan
I got this book last week and I wanna pick it up so bad! I am really into this series at the moment because it’s so action packed and funny. I need stuff like this in my life right now so I wanna get to this book right now.
Lock and Key
by Sarah Dessen
My mom just bought this one and I am really excited to read it. I have read two Sarah Dessen books and I really enjoy her work so I wanted to own and try a few more. I heard good things about this one from my mom so this is high on my priority list.
A Crown of Wishes (The Star-Touched Queen #2)
by Roshani Chokshi
Another hardcover that I own that I haven’t read. Honestly, it’s the theme of this TBR so I shouldn’t keep repeating myself. However, I loved the first book of this series and I need to read this one ASAP.
Raised by Wolves (Raised by Wolves #1)
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
This is the first book that I ever bought from Jennifer Lynn Barnes and I enjoyed it the first time I read it. As of now, I’ve read two other series of hers and she’s become one of my favorite authors so I want to give this series a re-read and hopefully finish it.
The Hollow (The Hollow #1)
by Jessica Verday
Another book that I want to re-read so I can finish the series and figure out how I feel about it. I don’t remember my thoughts on this one very well but I remember the plot and I’m still interested in it.
So that’s it for this post! We’ll see how well I do with everything. I’d love to know what you guys think of the books I’m planning on reading these upcoming months specially if you’ve read them before! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you on my next post!
