Freadom Speaks About Diversity

freadom-speaks-about-diversity

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my discussion feature, Freadom Speaks!

I’m pretty sure all of you guys have seen this particular topic coming, mostly because everyone around the book community has been talking about it. I wasn’t actually going to do it at first, everyone else is and most people might not want to read, etc. But this particular discussion has helped me learn a lot of things about myself and has helped me define what my thoughts on diversity are. And I feel like I wouldn’t be a good blogger if I didn’t at least try to throw my two cents into the conversation, however cheap those may be.

SO let’s get started!

1 YEAR BLOGIVERSARY! – Favorite Posts, What I’ve Learned and Q&A

1 Year Blogiversary

Hello everyone!

IT’S MY ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!! Exactly one year ago today I shared my first post which was only a welcome post which I’m pretty sure no one has ever read haha. After that I shared some reviews for my recent reads and I haven’t stopped since.

I honestly can’t believe that I’ve managed to stick with this for an entire year. I have the tendency to become obsessed with something, do it for awhile and then get obsessed with something else and do that. But finding blogging has been a blessing in many ways. I truly feel like I’ve found a passion and something that helped me find my career path which I’ve always struggled to articulate. Books have become my whole life and I am so glad to be able to share my passion with you guys.

I’m so blessed and thankful to have met so many different people who love books just as much as I do! I now have friends all over the world who understand me and like to hear what I have to say. So thank you friends and followers! Thank you for liking my posts, thank you for commenting on them, thank you for interacting with me on social media but most of all, thank you for making this place the welcoming environment that it is! Freadom Library would not be turning one today if it wasn’t for you.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to host a giveaway, though I hope I’ll be able to at some point, but I didn’t want this occasion to go by without a celebration (like what happened at my 6 month mark). And so I decided to share some of my favorite posts, what I’ve learned in this crazy blogging year and I’ll be answering some of the questions that I received in my announcement post a few days ago.

SO let’s get started!

Freadom Speaks About Dystopia and How It Should Affect Us

Freadom Speaks about Dystopia

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my discussion feature, Freadom Speaks!

This is a topic that I’ve wanted to talk about since my Dystopian month last year because it was inspired or thought up of the books that I read that month. I didn’t really get a chance to discuss it while doing Booktube so I wanted to bring it back and try to share my thoughts as clearly as possible.

SO let’s get started!

Freadom Speaks About Reading Published Fanfictions: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Freadom Speaks about Reading Published Fanfictions

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my discussion feature, Freadom Speaks!

I’ve shared this on my blog before but I am a huge fan of fanfiction (hee hee). I’ve been reading fanfiction for a really long time, I’ve written one (no, I am not sharing) and I’ve been really involved in that side of fandom life. I’ve also been working on reading some of the fanfictions that have been published as original novels and I wanted to talk about why and some of the examples that I’ve come across of good and bad interpretations of fanfictions.

Quick disclaimer: I am not an expert and I have not read every single fanfiction ever published. I’m just sharing my opinion on something that I’ve been a part of a really long time.

SO let’s get started

Freadom Speaks About YA Romances and Unrealistic Expectations

Freadom Speaks about YA Romances

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my discussion feature, Freadom Speaks!

Valentine’s Day was a few days ago and I was originally going to talk about this that week but I decided that this is more of a downer kind of discussion than an uplifting kind so you’re getting it a week later! Yay!

Considering February is the month of romance, a lot of people (including myself) are reading contemporary or books heavily focused on romance. So I decided that it would be a great time to talk about this idea that came to me after watching a video by Whitney @ Whitty Novels called ‘”Outgrowing” YA Fiction?’ That’s a topic for another time but one line she said in that video hooked me. She was describing a typical YA romance where usually things turn out great and at sixteen you’ve found the love of your life when she said:

“Thank you all YA books for that false sense of hope.”

That got me thinking about YA romances and how they’ve sort of given me unrealistic expectations on how relationships should look or be like. That’s what I’m going to talk about today.

SO let’s get started!

Freadom Speaks About Book Covers

Freadom Speaks about Book Covers

Hello everyone!

Today I am introducing a new feature to my blog. It’s called Freadom Speaks (shoutout to Abby and Gervan for helping me come up with the name) and this is the feature where I will be sharing all types of discussions whether bookish, blogging or life related.

I am actually quite nervous to start this because I feel like a ramble when I have something to discuss and it usually doesn’t end up being coherent so please bare with me as I get my feet wet.

This first discussion is pretty much a cop out. Like I said, I’m very nervous so I’m recycling an old topic, the first that I used when I first created my “Let’s Talk About” discussion series on my Booktube channel. At some point I’m sure I’ll find something intellectual or deep to discuss with you, but for now I’m going to be talking about book covers and the things that usually show up on the covers that become my favorites. You’ll see what I mean as you read.

SO let’s get started!
