“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – Who am I

Hey ya’ll!

So I ended up taking a five week break from this series and it was totally by accident! At first, I had midterms which took up a lot of my time and then I was unsure about how I wanted to share this post. The poem that I am sharing today is written as a spoken word piece, so it’s supposed to be heard and not read. However, I am way too nervous to read it out loud and share it with you all, so in the end, I decided to just share the bare bones with you. Maybe I’ll change my mind later but for now, this is the last piece I’m sharing for this series.

Let’s get started!

“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – Abandoned

Hey ya’ll!

This post is the last of three poetry pieces that I am sharing for this collection! For this assignment, we were again asked to play with form. This one was probably the hardest one to write because I was kind of running out of ideas haha. I would love to know your thoughts on it! Tell me what you think of the form and the content. I really hope you all enjoy this piece!

“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – Baila, Amor, Baila

Hey ya’ll!

This post is the second of three poetry pieces that I am sharing for this collection! For this assignment, we were asked to play with form and to create something more visually unconventional. I have a general idea of what I hope my poem visual looks like, but I would love to know your thoughts on it either way! Tell me what you think of the form and the content. I really hope you all enjoy this piece!

“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – I Believe In

Hey ya’ll!

I want to start this post off by saying how grateful and humbled I am by all the amazing comments and support I’ve been getting for this feature series! I honestly never thought I’d be comfortable enough to share pieces that I’ve written with a whole bunch of people, but ya’ll have made this experience absolutely amazing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love.

This post is the first of three poetry pieces! I was really nervous about this assignment so when my professor gave us prompts we could use to think about the work we wanted to create, I jumped at them. So this poem is inspired by Ray Gonzalez’s poem “Praise the Tortilla, Praise the Menudo, Praise the Chorizo.” I will share a link to it here, so you can check out my inspiration. But beyond that, I really hope you all enjoy this piece.

“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – Freedom

Hey ya’ll!

Today I am sharing the second piece of creative writing from a class I took last semester. I was so pleased with the reaction from my first post! Thank you to everyone who read it and commented. It means so much to me to get such positive feedback on something I’m not very good at haha.

For this post, I am sharing my second fiction piece for the class. This one is a little different from the last one, however. This is flash fiction, which is 500 words or less and it deals with some heavy topics. From this point on, trigger warning for physical abuse, death and violence. Please don’t read if these are possible triggers for you! With that being said, if you do continue reading, I hope you like it 😊 let me know your thoughts in the comments.

“Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series – The One with the Prison Break

Hey ya’ll!

In case you missed the announcement last week, today I am sharing some creative writing from a class I took last semester. I am pretty proud of them though I am definitely really nervous to be sharing it on such a big platform (even though not a lot of people read this blog anymore haha).

For this first post, I am sharing my first fiction piece for the class. It is a young adult, urban fantasy short story with a wacky voice and ending! Honestly, I don’t think this is my best but those who have read it before y’all say it’s entertaining! I hope you like it 😊 let me know your thoughts in the comments.

On Writing, Emotions and Sharing Yourself: “Sentimientos in Waves” Collection Series

Hey ya’ll!

I’m sharing something new today which is kind of nerve wracking so I hope ya’ll go easy on me. For my last semester of my community college career, I took a creative writing class. It was one of the most intense and exposing experiences of my life. I was terrified the entire time because I had never really given writing a shot and I wanted to do well!

With that being said, I will be sharing the assignments I did for this class with you all!

SO let’s get started!
